Hiphei, Elspeth on valmis! Alun vaikeuksien jälkeen tämä oli ihan ongelmaton pieni neule, varsinkin kun jaksoin piirtää kaaviot koko etu- ja takakappaleille. Ohje tarjoili kaavion vain 12 ensimmäiselle riville.

This was a quick knit! After some false starts it was smooth sailing. I drew charts for back and front pieces (the pattern only gives you the first 12 rows), and it made knitting so much easier.



Virkattu reunus osoittautui aika hankalaksi. Pari iltaa sitä väkersin, kunnes olin tyytyväinen lopputulokseen. Ohjeessa olleen nirkkoreunuksen päätin jättää pois. Se näytti jotenkin liian sievältä minun makuuni. Kokeilin muutamaa erilaista reunusta, ja päädyin lopulta yksinkertaiseen rapureunukseen. Virkatut nauhat jätin myös pois – nyt saan viimeinkin käyttöä rintarosseilleni. Niitä kun ei oikein muuten tule käytettyä. Tässä Elspeth takaa…

The crocheted edging was the trickiest part. I did it three times before I was pleased with it. I did try that pretty picot edge, but somehow it was a bit too cute for my liking. So I just worked one round of double crochet and then one round of crab stitch. I thinks it looks quite nice like that. I also left the ties out – now I can use all my beautiful brooches! I'm not much of a brooch-person otherwise. Here's the back…



… ja vielä yksi kuva edestä. Olen aika tyytyväinen, kuten näkyy. Calmer on sittenkin ihan kiva lanka, sille pitää vain löytää oikeat puikot. Valmis neule on tosi pehmeä ja ihanan tuntuinen ihoa vasten. Hmmm… ehkä tarvitsen vielä toisenkin tälläisen pehmoneuleen.

… and yet another photo, because I really like how this turned out. It's sooo soft and feels lovely against my skin! I have to change my opinion on Calmer. Knitted with Addis it's a really lovely yarn. I might need to buy more of it.
