Knitting, ripping

Kirsikkahuivin piti olla ihan nopea pieni välityö, mutta toisin kävi. Ainaoikein-suorakaiteen neulomisessakin voi mennä metsään, tiesittekös sitä? Se käy helposti neulomalla nelisenkymmentä senttiä kahdella erikokoisella puikolla. Voi argh. Ero oikeilla puikoilla kudottuun pintaan ei ollut hirmuinen, mutta kyllä se huomasi. Purkuun siis. Huoks.

Purin sitten sen ruman sukkanikin, kun kerran vauhtiin pääsin. Mitä todennäköisemmin en olisi koskaan saanut kudottua sitä toista rumaa sukkaa.

I was hoping to be able to present a finished Cherry Scarf by now, but not such luck. I've found a way to mess up a garter stitch scarf, and that is to knit with two different sized needles for about 40 centimeters. Nice. Not! The difference in gauge was not so big but noticeable nevertheless. So rip rip ripping I went. *sigh*

Oh, and I also ripped the ugly sock. I didn't love it. You need to love the socks you're knitting, otherwise there will most likely never be two of them.



Ärsytystä lieventääkseni loin heti silmukat uuteen neuleeseen, Glampyren Minisweateriin (tunnetaan myös nimellä Boobholder). Omituinen valinta. Pitäisinkö muka koskaan tälläistä ylläni? Pieni neuleparka joutuisi vähän turhan kovalle koetukselle rintavarustukseni kanssa. Joten ehkä tästä onkin muotoutumassa neuletakki Onnille, katsotaan nyt. Lankana on Novitan muinainen Maxi, joka halkeilee ihan hillittömästi. Ärsyttävää.

But! There's a new project on the needles! It started out as Glampyre's Minisweater (a.k.a. Boobholder). The further I knitted, the more I began to question this choice. I've got quite a lot to... um, hold, so I'm not so sure anymore if I'll ever wear this in public. Right now I'm thinking of turning it into a little cardigan for Onni. We'll see. I'm using Novita's Maxi, which is a thick cotton yarn and splits like crazy. Very annoying.
