I love you, Socks!

Embossed Leaves Socks
Pattern: Interweave Knits Winter 2005 / Mona Schmidt
Yarn: Koigu Premium Merino, 2 skeins
Needles: 3 mm

Oi Koigu, ihana lanka, unelmanpehmeä ja kaunis! Pikkuisen jopa surettaa, että sukat valmistuivat, niin mukava niitä oli kutoa. Mutta on niitä mukava pitääkin.

I’m kind of sad that these socks are finished. Knitting with Koigu was divine. This yarn is so very soft, and the slight variegation in colour is really beautiful. But I just love to wear my new socks!

I used size 3 mm needles instead of the recommended 2,75 mm, because I am a tight knitter, and because I don't have 2,75 mm dpns. I'm going to have to buy a set of those though. I would have liked these socks to be a bit tighter, and they seem to stretch in use.

Omien jalkojen kuvaaminen on aika haastavaa, varsinkin kun mukana häärää pieni apulainen:

Taking photos of your feet is quite challenging. And of course, half of my photos looked like this:

lehtisukat + onni1

Onnin mielestä koko touhussa ei oikein ollut järkeä. Mutta kilttinä poikana hän tarjosi omatkin jalkansa kuvattaviksi, joten ne esiintyivät noin joka toisessa kuvassa. Äidin muru!

Onni thought that it was quite weird to take photos of feet. But he's a good-natured kid, so he offered his own feet to be photographed too. That's my boy!

Those look fantastic, with other little feet in the picture or not :). Definitely on my "to knit" list now!

These look great! I have ben eyeing that pattern and even bought yarn for it. I will definitely have to get started on it before too much time goes by.

They turned out great, very pretty. Now you will knit more socks, I'm sure :) Thanks for all the photos from different angles. I like the embossed leaves, especially how it goes all the way up to the toes. I bought this issue of Interweave just for this pattern.

Beautiful photos of beautiful socks! I have heard, I think on Carolyn's blog, that it is good to knit Koigu socks snugly, because they will stretch a bit with wear. I haven't knit with it, but I have some in my stash.

Those socks are terrific! I'm usually not much of a sock knitter, but seeing yours has made me want to make a pair myself. And after all, it has lace...[I love lace!]

Wow, your socks are beautiful and I must try out Koigu someday 'cos I've read so many good things about it! I love the photo with Onni's feet in it too :)

Gorgeous socks! You did a fabulous job. If they get too stretched out, throw them in the dryer for five minutes, they should tighten up with no ill effect on the yarn. At least that is what I've been told.

I'm so tempted to knit these socks. Only thing is the Koigu I have is varigated and I'm not sure how the stitch pattern will turn out. And my little one does the same thing with my sock photo the other time. She, too volunteered her socked feet to be photographed with mine :D)

They are just beautiful, Terhi! I love the last picture with the heart in the middle. I think I will put aside my fear of lace and work towards these... I love the way yours came out!

Kiitos! :-)
Thank you! :-)

mari: En tiedä vielä. Ongelma on siinä, ettei mulla ole yhtään sukkalankaa varastoissani. Järkyttävää. :-O

Sanni: Kiitos! Meemi onkin aika hankala. Täytyy oikein pohtia, onko mulla mitään mainitsemisen arvoisia omituisuuksia. :-D
