Ripping and dreaming

Tässä suloinen sukkani. Poseeraan sukat jalassa sitten, kun ne ovat molemmat valmiit. (Siihen taitaa valitettavasti vierähtää muutama tovi, sillä oikea käsivarteni on taas ollut aika kipeä, ja taidan olla pakotettu pitämään neulomistauon. Neulominen, surffaaminen ja ihan oikean työn tekeminen tietokoneella ovat olleet tappava yhdistelmä kädelleni. Surullista.)

Ok, here she is. I'm saving the modelled photo for la grande finale, which I'm afraid is still weeks away. (My right arm has been acting funny again – I think I'm gonna have to take a little break from knitting. Sad but definately necessery, because the combination of knitting, blog-reading AND working on the computer every day is really killing my hand.)



Sukan pohja on mielestäni tosi kaunis! Olen jo suunnitellut tekeväni koko sukat tällä yksinkertaisella mutta tavattoman sievällä kuviolla.

My favourite part of the sock is the sole. Ain't it pretty? I would love me a pair of socks in this lovely simple pattern.



Neule-elämäni on nyt vähän vastatuulessa. Aloitin Pomatomus-sukat Curious Yarns -kaupasta ostamastani langasta, ja vaikka alku näyttää kauniilta, en ollenkaan pidä tämän sukan kutomisesta. Puikot ovat ohuet, ja ohjeen kaikki oikeat silmukat on neulottu kiertäen – yhdistelmä taitaa olla liikaa kädelleni juuri nyt. Purkuun siis.

My knitting has been quite unfortunate lately. I started the Pomatomus socks with the yarn I bought from Curious Yarns. While I think the sock is looking very beautiful, I don't enjoy knitting it. I don't know if it's the pattern with the many K tbl's or the thin needles or both of them, but I've been really struggling to get this far. And it's just not what I want from knitting right now.



Toinen purkutuomion saanut projekti on Hourglass Sweater. En onneksi päässyt pitkällekään, mutta silti harmittaa, ettei lankojen ja ohjeen yhdistelmä toiminut. Puserosta tulisi näillä langoilla aivan liian karkea ja jäykkä. Harmi! Olen kuitenkin jo keksinyt seuraavan ehdokkaan ötökkä-langoilleni:

Another project to be ripped is my Hourglass Sweater. Luckily I'm not very far as you can see, but I'm still disappointed that this didn't work out. The knitted fabric is too coarse and stiff for this design. So, no Hourglass Sweater for me, not yet anyway. Instead I've been thinking of knitting this pretty thing:



Kate Gilbertin upea Sunrise Circle Jacket uusimmasta Interweave Knits -lehdestä. Tähän takkiin vihreät lankani voisivat sopia paremmin. Ainakin neuletiheys on täsmälleen sopiva.

Brandon Mablyn Jewel (taitaa olla ensimmäinen Brandon Mably -neule, josta pidän). Lankakaapissani on pikkuisen Rowanin Calmeria, ja lisäksi tässä olisi mainio tilaisuus harjoittaa upeita fair isle -kykyjäni. Ja onhan tämä tietysti myös oikein nätti.

Jewel by Brandon Mably (the first design by him that I like, I think). I've got a bit Rowan Calmer in my stash, and since I'm such a fair isle guru nowadays, this would be a perfect project for me. And it's pretty too.



Marie Wallinin Victoria Wrap. Ihana! Mekkokin on aivan lumoava, vaikka en voisi edes kuvitella neulovani sitä.

Victoria Wrap by Marie Wallin. Oooh, lovely! I love the dress too, although I would never knit it.



Marie Wallinin Charleston, ehdoton suosikkineuleeni koko lehdessä. Jättäisin tuon liehukkeen pois, ja neuloisin olkaimet vähän eri tavalla, mutta upea tämä on, ehdottomasti. Ja jälleen täysin epäsopiva malli vartalotyypilleni. *megahuoks* Saahan sitä silti unelmoida.

Charleston by Marie Wallin. My absolute favourite in the magazine. I would leave the swag out and maybe knit the straps a bit differently, but still – such a gorgeous design. And again, not for me and my boobs. *huge sigh* I'm still dreaming about it though.
