Love is in the air

logcabin4

Log Cabin Baby Blanket of Happy Colours
Pattern source: How to Log Cabin from Mason Dixon Knitting / Kay Gardiner and Ann Shayne
Yarn: Rowan Handknit Cotton
Needles: 4 mm

Uusi peittoni on ihana!

I love my new blanket! I love the colours and I love the yarn, and I absolutely love log cabining! I love ladies Mason and Dixon too, for writing about this superb technique. But I also love the fact that this is done and I can move on.

Olen ehdottomasti moderni tilkkuilija! Kiitos Kay! Ja kiitos kaikille muillekin mielipiteensä ilmaisseille!

Did you notice that there's no border? After Kay (yes, the Log Cabin Lady herself) left a comment saying "…Border or no border it's great. Right now I'm in a no-border state of mind. The modern quilts don't have borders and I like the way they look" I was convinced that a) I'm a modern quilter and b) no-border state of mind is really my state of mind too. Thanks Kay! And thank you for all of you who commented!

Kaunis peitto :)

Kaunis ja värit on ihanat. Onnittelut :)
Puuvillaisen peiton alla uni muuten tosiaan tulee ihanasti. Se painaa turvallisesti.

It's lovely - and such a perfect size. I'm making one now in cool bluey colors from Silky Wool and I'm digging the log-cabining, too, although I'm starting to be really ready to be done. And yet, I already want to start another ...

SO lovely. I'm working on one in a similar stle (many squares) and am wondering if you'd share how you sewed them together. I've been mentally fiddling around with different options, but yours looks so great I'd LOVE to know how you did it!

Hieno on!

You're color choices are outstanding, and you have a gorgeous blanket. Are the narrow, outer bands on each block part of a binding or just narrow logs that you added? I'd also love to know how you decided to sew your blocks together.
Thanks so much for sharing your latest project with us.
